What started as a small initiative has now blossomed into a vibrant community led by compassionate, caring social workers who want to give a sense of community to children who have been abandoned. We believe no child should ever be left behind regardless of their disability or socio-economic circumstances. Every child is born to be loved.

Introduction of ARAM
The ARAM Charitable Trust was founded in 2014 with a deep commitment to protecting and nurturing the most vulnerable children in our society, especially girls with intellectual and physical disabilities who have been abandoned or orphaned.
The word “Aram” means righteousness, which is to live with integrity and to find true happiness in serving others. In today’s world, it is easy to expect others to take responsibility, but at ARAM we believe in stepping forward ourselves to make a difference. We pay particular care to each child’s:
- Prosperity
- Protection
- Participation
- Development
With a background in social work, specialising in child welfare, family counselling and child rights, our founder was deeply moved by the need for greater protection and care for children with disabilities, particularly girls. Out of this vision and passion, ARAM Charitable Trust was established.
We chose Kathirvedu in Tiruvallur District (India) as the home for ARAM because of its calm and green environment, where children can grow up with peace, happiness and security. Here, we provide the love, education and care that every child deserves.
In addition to creating a nurturing home, ARAM also works to expand support services. We have planned to establish free physiotherapy programmes for children with intellectual and physical disabilities, particularly for children from families below the poverty line, ensuring they receive the care and opportunities they need to flourish.
We believe that every child is born to be loved and we are dedicated to building a community where these children can grow with dignity, joy and true hope for the future.
Counselling
We provide counselling sessions for children in their adolescent years to help them develop harmony between the body and mind. These sessions are designed to encourage self-confidence, emotional balance and positive growth in a safe and supportive environment.
Supplementary Education Centre
We plan to run a supplementary education centre during the evening hours to support children who attend government schools. This initiative will strengthen their learning while also providing nutritious snacks to support their overall well-being.
